Xuzhou Medical University developed from the Xuzhou branch of Nanjing Medical College, established in 1958, and adopted its present name in 2016. English-taught degrees include Clinical Medicine, Anesthesiology, Dental Medicine and Nursing. Each includes one internship year. Nursing also offers an optional anaesthesia-nursing direction after year 2.

  • Medicine and anaesthesia

    Clinical Medicine and Anesthesiology are six-year English routes, each including one internship year. Study covers basic and clinical sciences, clinical skills, ethics, communication and Medical Chinese. Anesthesiology adds anaesthetic sciences, pain treatment and critical care.

  • Dentistry and nursing

    Dental Medicine is five years, including one internship year, with oral sciences, restorative dentistry, periodontology, oral surgery, prosthodontics, orthodontics and imaging. Nursing is four years, including one internship year. Its optional anaesthesia-nursing direction begins after year two; successful completion also earns a university-certified minor certificate, distinct from the Anesthesiology medical degree.

Scholarship options.

  • First-year scholarships

    Clinical Medicine and Anesthesiology: RMB 33,000/16,500/8,250, with maximum recipient shares 50%/30%/20%. Dental Medicine: RMB 18,000/13,000/8,000, with shares 20%/30%/40%. Nursing: RMB 30,000/25,000/20,000, with shares 50%/30%/20%. No separate freshman application is required; selection applies.

  • Second year onwards

    Academic awards are RMB 1,000–5,000 for Clinical Medicine, Dental Medicine and Anesthesiology, or RMB 15,000–25,000 for Nursing. Clinical Medicine also has a competitive Jiangsu Government award of RMB 18,000 per year. First-year awards cover one academic year; later awards require their own selection.

Scholarships depend on eligibility, selection and any required review. Plan for the full fees until an award is granted; fee subtotals do not include scholarship deductions.

BEFORE YOU APPLY

Entry requirements.

  • Age, qualification and health

    Applicants must be aged 18–25 and in good physical and mental health. The passport birth-date range for 2026 entry is 1 September 2001–31 August 2008. A high-school diploma or higher is required, with particular attention to Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

  • English

    Native or official-language English applicants may be exempt. Others provide IELTS Academic 6.0 with every band at least 5.5, an accepted comparable test, high-school English-medium certification, or a successful university online language interview.

  • Entrance assessment

    The university assesses Mathematics and Chemistry in English. Suitable valid CSCA Mathematics and Chemistry results can exempt an applicant from these tests.

  • Nationality history

    Relevant Chinese-origin applicants need four years of foreign nationality and two years abroad in the preceding four years ending 30 April 2026. Naturalisation, previous-nationality cancellation, travel and overseas-study records support this review.

  • Suitable CSCA Mathematics and Chemistry results may qualify for exemption from the university entrance tests.
  • The admission deposit is non-refundable and payable within fourteen days of pre-admission. It counts toward the assigned first-year charges.
  • Attend compulsory orientation after arrival.
  • Age 18–25; IELTS 6.0, each band at least 5.5; or equivalent test, English-taught certificate or school interview route.
  • Suitable CSCA Mathematics and Chemistry results may qualify for exemption from the online entrance tests.
  • Bank evidence at least RMB 50,000; medical and police documents within 6 months; passport with 18 months remaining validity.

Documents to prepare.

  • Photograph

    White-background JPG, at least 295 × 413 pixels, 100–200 KB.

  • Passport

    Provide a passport with eighteen months of validity. Applicants in China also provide FirstLiners with a visa/residence-permit copy valid for at least ninety days.

  • High-school diploma

    Provide FirstLiners with your highest diploma. Fresh graduates may initially provide a school-sealed pre-graduation certificate, then supply FirstLiners with the completed qualification before final admission. Other-language records need notarised Chinese or English translations.

  • Complete academic transcript

    Provide FirstLiners with the complete transcript for your qualification, with notarised Chinese or English translation if needed.

  • Non-criminal record

    Provide the official non-criminal-record certificate, valid within six months.

  • Physical examination form

    Provide the Foreigner Physical Examination Form in Chinese or English, valid within six months.

  • Handwritten signature

    Provide FirstLiners with an electronic copy of your own handwritten signature.

  • English evidence

    Provide the applicable English-test certificate, school-issued English-medium evidence or qualifying exemption proof. A successful university language interview is another accepted route.

  • Self-introduction video

    Record a three-to-five-minute English self-introduction video, no larger than 50 MB.

  • CSCA scores

    Optional Mathematics and Chemistry reports may qualify for exemption from the university entrance tests when accepted.

  • Financial guarantee

    Provide the guarantor’s identity document and bank certificate for at least RMB 50,000 or equivalent currency. The certificate must be valid within six months; provide notarised translation where required.

  • Online application

    Provide FirstLiners with accurate personal details, your email, address and WeChat/DingTalk contact for the university application. Each ordinary document file must be no larger than 1.5 MB.

  • Nationality evidence, if applicable

    Where nationality rules apply, provide naturalisation and former-nationality/household-registration cancellation evidence, four years of passport entry/exit stamps and overseas-study records.

  • Post-graduation history — if applicable

    Applicants not graduating in the current year provide a detailed account and evidence of the period since graduation. Relevant awards may support the file.

    After payment, receive electronic admission and JW202 documents for the X1 visa. Bring the required originals on your assigned date and attend compulsory orientation.
