Sichuan University’s West China medical education traces its history to 1910. The six-year English-taught MBBS requires at least 308 credits.   • Huaxi medical-campus housing is priced per person/day: single RMB52, twin RMB42, small twin RMB33 or triple RMB24.
  • Medical insurance: RMB1,000 for twelve months. The RMB500/semester option is alternative coverage, not an extra charge.
  • Accommodation is limited and campus-specific. Huaxi bills per day; an annual amount requires actual occupancy days.
  • Excess electricity beyond campus allowance is charged separately.
  • Residence processing, physical examination, travel and personal living costs are separate.

FUNDING

Scholarship options.

  • Chengdu Sister Cities Scholarship

    RMB 20,000 per year for up to four undergraduate years. Applicants must have been born, lived, studied or worked in a Chengdu international sister or friendly city, and need a city-authority confirmation letter. Normal admission requirements and merit selection apply.

  • Payment and renewal

    Pay tuition, accommodation, insurance and living expenses normally; this award is a separate payment. Annual review is required for continuation, and another scholarship cannot be held at the same time. The Study at SCU undergraduate award excludes Clinical Medicine and Stomatology. FirstLiners prepares the scholarship documents with your admission file.

Scholarships depend on eligibility, selection and any required review. Plan for the full fees until an award is granted; fee subtotals do not include scholarship deductions.

BEFORE YOU APPLY

Entry requirements.

  • Age and citizenship

    At least 18 and normally under 25; non-Chinese valid passport, good physical and mental health. Relevant Chinese-parentage/nationality cases must meet MOE 2020 No.12.

  • Academics

    High-school qualification with good academic results.

  • English

    TOEFL ≥80, IELTS ≥6.0 or accepted equivalent; native-English speakers exempt. Prior highest qualification taught in English may use official medium-of-instruction evidence.

  • CSCA

    English medical programmes require Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry scores.

  • The six-year MBBS requires at least 308 credits.
  • Bring the printed admission and JW documents, original or notarised diploma, original medical form and blood-test results to registration.
YOUR APPLICATION FILE

Documents to prepare.

Prepare this checklist with FirstLiners for the named medical programme. Keep originals and any required translations or certification ready for registration.

  • Passport

    First-page copy, with at least six months remaining at application. Mainland-China residents also provide valid visa/residence-permit page.

  • Graduation certificate

    High-school diploma or school-stamped expected-graduation certificate with the graduation date. A high-school qualification with good results is required. Provide the final diploma by your intake’s registration deadline.

  • Previous China study

    A performance statement from your former Chinese school if living or studying in China, or if you previously studied there. Disclose the relevant study history and obtain the school-issued evidence requested for your circumstances.

  • High-school transcripts

    School-stamped high-school academic results. Submit the complete record needed to assess your qualification, using the university’s Chinese/English and translation rules. Keep the academic file consistent with the graduation certificate.

  • Personal statement

    In English for MBBS: introduction, application reasons, understanding of major and study plan.

  • English proficiency

    TOEFL at least 80, IELTS at least 6.0 or an accepted equivalent. Native English speakers are exempt. If your highest qualification was taught in English, supply official medium-of-instruction evidence under the permitted exemption route.

  • Medical examination

    Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed within six months of application. Bring the original examination and blood-test results for enrolment verification.

  • Financial proof

    Funding-source/guardian guarantee: family bank deposit or parent/guardian income certificate. Recommended funding is at least USD 5,000; full-scholarship applicants are exempt. This is proof of available support, separate from tuition and other charges.

  • Police clearance

    Local public-security no-criminal-record certificate within six months of application.

  • Additional achievements

    Award certificates or other supporting evidence where applicable. Include relevant achievements already held, while keeping the essential academic, language and CSCA documents complete.

  • CSCA report

    English medical programmes require Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry scores. Prepare the complete three-subject report rather than assuming the Mathematics/Chemistry combination used by some other universities applies to SCU.

  • Document form

    Provide electronic originals or notarized Chinese/English copies to FirstLiners for submission. For another language, attach official Chinese/English translations. Incomplete applications are rejected and the university may request supplements; provide any requested additions promptly through FirstLiners.

  • Enrolment documents

    Bring the printed admission letter and JW 201/JW 202, original or notarized highest diploma, original medical examination and original blood-test results. Register in person on the date specified by the university after completing the study-visa process.

Application and arrival

  • Submit

    Apply through FirstLiners, provide the complete file and make the university application payment included in the FirstLiners package. FirstLiners coordinates university requests; provide any requested additions promptly.

  • Assessment

    The university assesses documents, interview performance and any other required evaluation.

  • Admission and visa

    Follow the offer and tuition-payment instructions. Use the admission and JW201/JW202 documents to obtain the study visa.

  • Register

    Attend in person on the date in your admission notice. Bring the printed admission/JW documents, original or notarized diploma, original medical examination and blood-test results.
