Jilin University was founded in 1946 in Changchun. Its six-year English-taught MBBS began in 2005, with undergraduate training undertaken by the College of Basic Medical Sciences since April 2023. Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy are separate English-taught degrees lasting four and five years. Each programme has its own entry requirements and study plan.

Scholarship options.

  • International-student awards

    The College of International Education Scholarship and Golden Bean awards support selected international students. Golden Bean merit and financial-support awards are for enrolled self-funded students; academic results, attendance, conduct and financial need guide selection.

  • Choose the right funding route

    Chinese Government undergraduate scholarships fund Chinese-taught study. They do not fund the English degree fee plan. Plan for the full fees until a scholarship is awarded. FirstLiners prepares and follows up your scholarship application.

Scholarships depend on eligibility, selection and any required review. Plan for the full fees until an award is granted; fee subtotals do not include scholarship deductions.

BEFORE YOU APPLY

Entry requirements.

  • Nationality, age and education

    Non-Chinese citizens aged 18–30 with a valid foreign passport, high-school diploma and good physical and mental health.

  • MBBS science and English

    Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry results of at least 70. IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with each component at least 5.0; TOEFL iBT 70 overall with each component at least 15; or accepted equivalent English evidence.

  • Assessment

    CSCA score report and the college interview are required. Review considers school results, language and suitability; an additional written assessment may apply. FirstLiners explains the CSCA subjects for your exact programme. MBBS requirements do not automatically apply to Pharmacy or Clinical Pharmacy.

  • MBBS, Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy have separate CSCA and document requirements.
  • First-year international students live in university-allocated accommodation.
  • Register with the academic college within three days of university registration.

  • Foreigner Physical Examination Form

    Completed examination form.

Application and arrival

  • Apply with FirstLiners

    Provide school, passport, English, CSCA and medical records to FirstLiners. Qualification review is followed by the applicable assessment, interview or test. FirstLiners coordinates your chosen programme and intake dates.

  • Registration

    Bring your original passport, Admission Notice and JW201/JW202. Follow the date in your Admission Notice. Register with the academic college within three days of university registration.

  • Arrival payments

    First-year students live in university-allocated housing. Pay accommodation at check-in and follow the room/deposit terms in your FirstLiners payment breakdown.
