Jiangsu University in Zhenjiang was formed in 2001, with institutional roots dating to 1934. Its six-year English-taught MBBS combines basic medicine, clinical medicine, preventive medicine and clinical-skills training. Graduation requires HSK Level 4 with at least 180 points and a GPA above 1.80. Dentistry and Pharmacy follow separate degree requirements.

Scholarship options.

  • Presidential Scholarship

    English BDS applicants under 25 can apply for a RMB 10,000 first-year tuition award. A separate RMB 10,000 annual tuition award is available to eligible English-degree applicants under 25 from designated countries.

  • Who can apply for the annual award

    Eligible countries include the ten ASEAN countries, EU countries, five Central Asian countries and South Pacific island countries, plus Algeria, Libya, South Africa, Tunisia, Ecuador, Russia, the USA, Mongolia, Mexico, Nepal, Serbia, Sri Lanka and the UK. Pakistan is not included in this category.

  • Award conditions

    Presidential awards cannot be combined with another scholarship. Changing your major after a first-year award requires repayment of that award. Plan for the full fees until a scholarship is awarded. FirstLiners prepares and follows up your scholarship application.

Entry requirements.

  • School results

    High-school qualification with results above 70%, grade B or equivalent.

  • English

    IELTS above 6.0, TOEFL above 80 or Duolingo above 100. A score equal to the threshold requires acceptance assessment through FirstLiners.

  • CSCA and programme scope

    Mathematics and Chemistry are required for MBBS. FirstLiners coordinates paper language, age/nationality review and the deadline. Other English-taught degrees have their own entry requirements.

  • Graduation requires HSK Level 4 with at least 180 points and a GPA above 1.80.
  • Off-campus accommodation requires prior approval.
  • The admission-reservation payment is credited to enrolment charges and is non-refundable if you do not register.

    Mathematics and Chemistry.

    IELTS, TOEFL or Duolingo result meeting the programme standard. Minimum accepted scores: IELTS above 6.0, TOEFL above 80 or Duolingo above 100.

  • Personal statement

    At least 800 words in Chinese or English: education/work history, reasons for China and the programme, and future plans.

  • Physical examination

    Foreigner Physical Examination Form with all listed tests; valid six months.

  • Financial evidence

    Family bank deposits, property certificate or parent/guardian income certificate. Recommended minimum value: USD 5,000 or equivalent; this is financial proof, not a university fee.

  • Non-criminal record

    Valid certificate required.

  • Document format

    Colour scans of originals or notarised copies in Chinese or English. FirstLiners coordinates any additional translations.

    Follow formal admission and visa instructions. Pay housing before check-in, tuition within one month of registration and insurance before completing registration, usually within three days of arrival. Off-campus housing needs prior approval.
