Chongqing Medical University began in 1956 when part of Shanghai First Medical College relocated to Chongqing. Its campuses include Yuanjiagang in Yuzhong District and Jinyun in University Town. The six-year English-taught Clinical Medicine programme combines medical study, practical training and internship. Teaching resources include experimental centres and clinical-skills simulation facilities.

Scholarship options.

  • CQMU freshman scholarship

    RMB 15,000 once in the first year for selected self-funded international undergraduates. Awards can support up to 30% of new entrants through competitive selection. Selection considers academic performance, achievements and overall ability.

  • Your funding plan

    Apply through FirstLiners with your academic and supporting documents. Fee totals cover the full self-funded charges; the freshman award is a separate, one-time payment.

Scholarships depend on eligibility, selection and any required review. Plan for the full fees until an award is granted; fee subtotals do not include scholarship deductions.

BEFORE YOU APPLY

Entry requirements.

  • Age and health

    Generally 18–25; good physical/mental health and conduct; sufficient financial resources. Normally graduating high school in the intended enrolment year.

  • Nationality

    Non-Chinese citizen. Foreign passport/citizenship must have been held for at least four years, with more than two years of actual residence abroad in the preceding four years before 30 April of the enrolment year.

  • Sciences

    High-school diploma or higher; science stream including Mathematics, English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

  • Country-specific grades

    Other countries: exit-exam average ≥70%. India:≥70% or NEET ≥150. Pakistan: HSSC premedical ≥700/1100. Iran:≥14/20. Sri Lanka: local A levels, two C grades and one S grade; London A levels, two B grades and one C grade.

  • English

    IELTS Academic ≥6 (each ≥5), TOEFL iBT ≥85 (each ≥15), or Duolingo 105. Native speakers accepted. Entire high-school English-medium study may qualify with school statement and English-course transcripts.

  • CSCA and interview

    CSCA Mathematics in English; submit the score report by your FirstLiners application deadline. The interview requires at least 60/100. Under equal conditions, HSK evidence gives preference.

  • Under 18 exception

    Where parents do not ordinarily reside in China, provide a formal appointment of a guardian ordinarily residing in China and supporting evidence.

  • The interview requires at least 60/100. School results and achievements also contribute to selection.
YOUR APPLICATION FILE

Documents to prepare.

Prepare this checklist with FirstLiners for the named medical programme. Keep originals and any required translations or certification ready for registration.

  • Passport

    Copy/scan; validity at least six months at registration.

  • Application form

    Complete CQMU International Student Information Management System form.

  • Physical examination

    English Foreigner Physical Examination Form with every test completed, photograph sealed, doctor’s signature and hospital stamp. Valid for six months; retain the original. Check the report’s date against your actual application and registration timetable before submission.

  • Police clearance

    Local-police clearance. FirstLiners coordinates the certificate date and accepted validity period.

  • Bank deposit

    Bank certificate showing at least the full first-academic-year amount in your FirstLiners fee breakdown. This demonstrates available funds and is separate from payable fees.

  • Academic and conduct records

    Notarized high-school diploma, transcripts and good-behaviour certificate; upload scans/copies. The science stream includes Mathematics, English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Check the country-specific academic threshold in the full eligibility section before preparing the file.

  • English evidence

    Valid IELTS Academic at least 6, every band at least 5; TOEFL iBT at least 85, every component at least 15; or Duolingo 105. Native/full-high-school-English exemptions need approved evidence, including the school statement and English-course transcripts where applicable.

  • CSCA transcript

    Mathematics result from an English paper. Meet your intake’s application and result-submission deadlines. The separate interview requires at least 60/100.

  • Achievements

    Relevant publications, papers, honours and awards as supplementary documents.

  • Scholarship documents

    Additional papers for the scholarship selected, where applicable.

  • Previous China study

    Disclose all study history in China and upload relevant proof if currently at a Chinese university. Relevant nationality cases also need evidence of the passport/citizenship and overseas-residence conditions; obtain the exact additional records required.

  • Guardian documentation

    For an under-18 student whose parents do not ordinarily reside in China, provide a formal appointment of a guardian ordinarily residing in China and supporting evidence. FirstLiners coordinates the current form and identity requirements.

  • Document standards

    Upload clear, genuine and valid scans; no paper documents are required during application. Original and copy documents are checked and archived at registration. Keep the submitted file complete and follow any university request for additional verification.

    Pass initial screening and the interview; the interview requires at least 60/100. Merit selection considers interview performance, academic results and achievements.

    Follow the offer, payment and admission-document instructions provided by FirstLiners. Our team coordinates your assigned registration date before you arrange travel. Bring the originals and copies for checking and archiving at registration.
